Brian Pawlowski is a member of technical staff at Network Appliance Inc., where he is looking into performance and new architectures for future file server products. Employee 18 at Network Appliance, he has been involved in several projects. He worked with the engineering team to produce the first in-house server design, the F330. After recruiting a new VP of Engineering, Brian returned to performance work. He has been studying and working on performance improvements to NFS, CIFS and HTTP products from NetApp. He has recently been studying the problem of utilizing Gigabit Ethernet bandwidth with distributed file system technologies like NFS and CIFS. He has also worked Japan with our first OEM Fujitsu to ensure a successful product launch. Brian continues his involvement with NFS futures in his role as co-chair for the IETF NFS Version 4 Working Group tasked with defining the future direction of NFS.
