Sensor Networks and smart meteringRudi van Drunen, Competa IT en XlexIT AbstractThis talk describes a sensor network for smart metering built out of simple open hardware components such as the Arduino-like boards. The network uses a central database to present the results built on open source software running on UNIX. This versatile system is measuring electricity usage and is capable of measuring parameters like COP (Coefficient of Performance) in systems such as heat pumps. Rix Groenboom holds a MSc and PhD in Computing Science from the University of Groningen, and has written over 30 publications on the use of formal methods in embedded and knowledge-based systems development. His special areas of interest are in the use of formal languages for the specification, design and validation of software applications. Currently, amongst others, he is chairman of the SIOG foundation, an innovation and Informatics research foundation. |
