An introduction to KubernetesSpeaker: Alessandro Vozza AbstractKubernetes is a CNCF (Cloud Native Computing Foundation) project (originated at Google from the Borg scheduler) that aims to provide a platform for automating deployment, scaling, and operations of application containers across clusters of hosts. It's becoming massively popular and it's used in production in multiple places; has a huge, inclusive community and it's evolving fast into a de facto standard (and it's the basis for the popular Openshift from Red Hat) for orchestrating deployment of applications and microservices. We will explore Kubernets architecture and paradigms, and we’ll deploy a few applications during the talk. BiographyAlessandro started working with Linux and Open source back in 1999 while studying for his degree in Chemistry. After his Ph.D., he choose to pursue a career in IT and covered many roles and position, lastly landing as Technical Evangelist for Microsoft, specializing in DevOps, containers and Azure. Alessandro is active in various communities and meetups (he started the DevOps and Openstack meetups in Amsterdam) and he's passionate about all cutting edge techs, including AI, IoT, and bots. |
